Richard B. Cheney a distinguished public servant and businessman is the vice president of the United States. Cheney, a well-known face within Washington politics has worked under four presidents in the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush nominated Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in July 2000. Bush cited Cheney's wisdom as well as his judgment and expertise. Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the country in a variety of capacities. It's clear that he is a man with integrity, who has the respect of both Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney claims that the role he plays within the administration as one of an open and honest advisor to Bush. Cheney stated that, when he decided to accept the Republican nomination for vice president Cheney was looking forward to being a part of a president who works with all parties to achieve goals and will cooperate with opposition members in good faith. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. Cheney relocated into Casper, Wyoming with his family when he was 13. He was raised by his father who was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture was the director of the conservation district located in Casper.
