Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian who scored a total of 10 at the Olympic contest. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was just six years old. She began competing in the junior national championships in 1969 placing 13th and she was the winner in 1970. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three golds In 1973 and 1974, she was all-around junior champion. She beat the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva who was the five-time European Champion in her first senior international event in the year 1975. In this event she took home four golds as well as a silver. In 1976, she was the first female to do reverse double salos using the uneven parallel bar, as part of her dismount. The American Cup was hers. of the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began skating figure along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol first began her acting career during her teenage years. She started her career as a figure skater performing with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. They featured ice-skating shows that featured theatrical shows.
